Reports to: Department
ENGLISH NEWS PRODUCER -1 POSITION News Manager News

To plan, coordinate and produce reliable. objective and authoritative news in line with the NTV mandate.


Responsibilities:


  • Plan, prepare and monitor live broadcast of news in line with the NTV strategic objectives.
  • Brief, debrief, guide and monitor reporters to confirm story deadlines are achieved within specified times in line with the editorial policy.
  • Edit news scripts. write headlines and make key decisions on story aesthetics in line with the editorial policy.
  • Conduct quality control of content before broadcasts in line with the editorial policy.
  • Lead the editorial content generation process in line with the editorial policy.


    Requirements


  • Basic University Degree
  • Post graduate training in the media industry
  • At least 5 years of experience in the media industry with a proven ability to conceptualize, edit and execute Television stories and an excellent command of the British English language.
  • Passion for writing coupled with a keen
    news sense.
  • Possesses broad knowledge of local and regional issues and/or depth of knowledge in beat specialty.
  • Ability to work accurately and under pressure.
  • Deadline driven
  • Computer literate.
  • Must have a good eye for detail.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills
  • Must be able to deal effectively with simultaneous tasks.
