Duties and Responsibilities
  • An officer at this level will be deployed as a head of a Department at County headquarters
    as the County Roads Engineer.
  • Duties and responsibilities will include coordinating of the review and formulation of general policies on procurement of works and ensure efficiency in the repair and maintenance of all road works budgeting carrying out quality Assurance of Roads Services coordinating the evaluation and monitoring the adherence and compliance with the set commitments and indicators in the departmental performance contract and be
    responsible for the overall planning.
  • As a County Roads Engineer, the officer will be responsible for direction and coordination
    of roads and research activities within the province.
  • Duties will include supervision of
    construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of classified and unclassified roads preparation
    of tender documents monitoring the execution of roads development projects and supervision and training of engineers and technical staff.
  • For appointment to this grade, an officer must have
  • Served in the grade of principal superintending engineer (Roads/Materials) of
    comparable and relevant position in the public service for at least three (3) years
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualification from a
    recognized institution;
  • Leadership Development course lasting not less than six(6) weeks form a recognized
    institution and
  • Been registered with Engineers Registration Board of Kenya and be a corporate
    member of the institutions of engineers of Kenya.
