Narok County Director for Co-operative Development Jobs in Kenya

Duties and responsibilities

An officer at this level may head a directorate/Division. Duties and responsibilities will entail:

Providing technical advice on co-operative investments, finance, credit, marketing, project
management, extension and advisory services;

Enforcing compliance with cooperative legislation;

Designing, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of cooperative activities, programmes and policies;

Carrying out market research and disseminating research findings, preparing and validating
registration and deregistration of cooperative societies’ documents;

Monitoring cooperative societies’
liquidation process;

Developing education and training packages for the cooperative movement;

Promoting value addition and processing; conducting co-operative banking inspections; undertaking cooperative risk assessment, developing new financial products, new credit policies and other cooperative ventures; and be responsible for staff supervision, development and appraisal in the Directorate/Division.

Requirements for appointment

For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-

He served in the grade of Senior Assistant Commissioner for Cooperative Development for a
minimum period of three (3) years.

Bachelors Degree In Any Of The Following Disciplines;-Commerce, Business Administration,
Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Law, Agricultural Economics, Co-Operative Management,
Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management And Organizational Development, Finance Or Agribusiness from a recognized institution.

Masters degree in any of the following disciplines;- Commerce, Business Administration,
Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Law, Agricultural Economics, Co-Operative Management,
Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management And Organizational Development, Finance or Agribusiness from a recognized institution.

Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than six(6) weeks from a recognized institution;

Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; and

Demonstrate managerial, administrative and professional competence in work performance and
exhibited a thorough understanding of national goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to the Cooperative Development and Marketing Function.
