Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Continuously update knowledge on hotel products, services, events calendar and tariffs.
Generate, expand and maintain client portfolio and database.
Meet or surpass budgeted sales targets.
Identify new sales opportunities through cross‑selling and upselling tactics.
Conduct client sales surveys to identify demographics, pricing points and preferences.
Make sales visits and calls to prospective and existing clients.
Prepare and present customized itineraries based on guest budgets.
Identify and apply for advertised tenders for hospitality services.
Seek networking and marketing opportunities with industry players.
Participate in trade fairs, exhibitions, promotions and events to showcase hotel services.
Monitor emerging hospitality trends and advise on sales strategies.
Run social media advertising and promotions to boost occupancies.
Liaise with hotel staff on confirmed bookings and event orders.
Monitor competitor activity.
Track occupancy forecasts and prepare sales reports.
Create engaging blog content for online use.
Interact with guests, gather feedback and address concerns promptly.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Prerequisites
Degree or Diploma in Sales & Marketing or business‑related field.
Previous experience in hotel industry or travel agency (advantage).
Minimum 3 years’ practical experience in hospitality sales with local and regional networks.
Outstanding sales ability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer literacy and knowledge of online marketing tools/social media platforms.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Self‑driven and able to work under minimal supervision.
Exceptional networking skills.
Good understanding of outdoor industry and markets.
Must be within Nyeri County or familiar with marketing in Nyeri and Laikipia County.
