Namati Global Monitoring & Evaluation Officer Jobs in Kenya

  • Accurate, rich data drives the quality of our work, and enables us to continuously improve our program implementation and advocate for systemic, large-scale reforms.

Namati intentionally structures our monitoring and evaluation with learning in mind. This includes evaluating where and how paralegals can be effective at resolving injustices but also, crucially, includes more granular, methodological insights on how to maximize their impact.

To deepen the use of our data for learning, we are searching for two strategic and forward-thinking Global Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officers who will ensure that our M&E systems are optimized for programmatic excellence and organizational learning.

Reporting to the Director of Global Learning & Practice, the Global M&E Officer is central to coordinating and streamlining processes to track and assess impact across Namati programs.

  • Ensuring Namati programs have the data needed for rigorous reflection on program strategy
  • Supporting the design of robust M&E tools (surveys, interview protocols, etc) adapted to the specific context and learning priorities
  • Providing guidance to programs on planning and logistics related to data collection, sampling, data storage, and analysis
  • Identifying and exploring key questions that arise based on data in conversation with programs teams
  • Supporting M&E staff to analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data

  • Supporting M&E and program staff to identify key messages based on findings from data analysis
  • Building the capacity of M&E and program staff to use data to tell effective stories for specific audiences
  • Supporting M&E staff in visualizing data in a variety of formats using best practices
  • Reviewing grant proposals and reports for alignment to established data tracking systems
  • Supporting M&E staff to proactively generate data for grant reports in line with donor reporting requirements
  • Designing strategies for building the capacity of M&E staff and supporting the group to deepen their expertise over time
  • Organizing and facilitating quarterly group convenings
  • Helping M&E staff train partners and paralegals
  • Identifying, storing, and when needed developing resources on a variety of M&E topics
  • Developing and refining global key performance indicators that capture core dimensions of Namati’s work
  • Identifying indicators for cross-cutting grant proposals
  • Coordinating with Development and Communications teams to ensure consistency in how Namati frames and reports impact to external audiences
  • Providing program overviews and updates about program content to Development and Communications
  • Leading a team-wide brown bag lunch discussion on the findings from a recent
    survey conducted in Sierra Leone
  • Holding a meeting with the Community Land Protection program to identify learning priorities and design a strategy for an upcoming baseline
  • Partnering with Namati’s global fundraising team to develop a major grant proposal by shaping a logframe for donors and funders
  • Helping build the capacity of in-country M&E counterparts by training them on best practices on field interview techniques or qualitative data analysis
  • Working in close partnership with the Global Systems Officer to propose operational solutions to promote data security and protection
