We are responsible for provision of water and sanitation services within the larger parts of Nakuru County except Nakuru and Naivasha Urban Centers. Nakuru Rural Water and Sanitation Company Technical Services Manager Jobs in Kenya

Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will co-ordinate, control and manage the Company's technical operations and maintain its infrastructure in order to supply water services to the required standards and in compliance with the company policy.

Responsibilities:

  • With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, cost efficiency and operational excellence, as well as ensuring compliance to the legal provisions of water service providers, you will be expected to:
  • Manage all engineering works, electrical/mechanical equipment including supervising the design, plan and construction of new water projects,
  • Oversee all activities of the technical department to ensure water service provision meet set standards and operations are free of malfunctions,
  • Monitor and evaluate technical operations and recommend areas for improvement on a continuous basis to ensure efficient service delivery,
  • Develop departmental policies, plans, strategies and action plans that are aligned to the overall company mission and objectives,
  • Manage maintenance, repairs, installation and replacement of plant, machinery and other equipment, maximizing return on capital investment, a Prepare comprehensive Departmental reports, including engineering budgets, technical audit reports etc for the
  • Managing Director to facilitate decision making, o Manage departmental staff performer., development, training and motivation for effective performance,

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field,
  • Registered Engineer with ERB,
  • 7 years engineering work experience, preferably in the Water and Sanitation sector or related field with at least 3 years at Senior Management Level,
  • Demonstrated Project Management & Planning experience and of managing external consultants, partners and donors,
  • Proven people management experience; managing a large work force will he a definite advantage,
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of GIS will be an added advantage.

    Job Description

    Reporting to the Managing Director, you will provide guidance in overall Human Resource

    and Administration management, ensuring that NARUWASCO has in place the appropriate, skilled and well-motivated workforce and administrative support that can deliver our mandate.

    Responsibilities

  • Formulate, enforce and regularly update the human resource and administration policies including terms and conditions of service and staff welfare, a Support the organisation with manpower planning and participate in the recruitment, selection and placement activities, ensuring employees are properly oriented on joining the company,
  • Effectively manage the staff welfare including medical, pension and other benefit ensuring cost effectiveness and overall efficiency.
  • Manage employee relations throughout the organisation including union matters, grievance handling and staff motivation programmes,
  • Train line managers and supervisors on labour and human resources management issues and provide advisory services as and when required,
  • Support the performance management process by continuously updating job descriptions and coordinating the appraisal processes as well as implementation of post appraisal activities such as training and development, a Manage departmental staff performance, development, training and motivation for effective performance,

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social science, Human Resource Management. Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized University and Diploma in Human Resource Management,
  • Registered member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM),
  • 7 years working experience, 3 of which should be at senior management level, preferably in the water sector,
  • Experience of union management and CBA negotiations is essential as is human resources planning, recruitment, training and development and performance management,
  • Experience of developing and or implementing human resources information systems is a definite advantage, a Proven people management experience; managing a large work force will he a definite advantage,
  • Excellent people, interpersonal and communication skills.

    All these positions are on a 5 year renewable contract strictly based on good performance.
