Nairobi Metropolitan Area Transport Authority Deputy Director - Legal Services Jobs in Kenya; Responsible to Head of Directorate for Board secretarial services, contract administration, insurance, legislative drafting and compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with legal instruments governing metropolitan transport.

  • Provide strategic legal and corporate advisory services.

  • Deliver effective Board secretariat services.

  • Develop and maintain legal and regulatory framework.

  • Oversee representation in courts and tribunals.

  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution.

  • Establish ADR framework.

  • Draft, review and vet contracts and legal instruments.

  • Conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.

  • Maintain legal and statutory registers.

  • Advise on legal relationships concerning assets.

  • Promote legal awareness, ethics and governance.

  • Liaise with Attorney‑General, advocates and regulators.

    Person Specifications
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience, 4 in management.

  • Bachelor of Laws degree.

  • Master’s degree in Law or Metropolitan Transport.

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Law (Kenya School of Law).

  • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with valid practicing certificate.

  • Member of Law Society of Kenya.

  • Management course (≥4 weeks).
