    Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and evaluate the relevant division’s strategic plans, programmes and projects in collaboration with other departments and stakeholders.

  • Interpret and apply national and county laws and other related statutes in the relevant division in line with the county goals and objectives.

  • Organize, direct, control and coordinate functions of the division for effective running of the department.

  • Develop appropriate county department policies, legal and institutional frame works for implementation of the mandate of the division.

  • Oversee preparation of annual work plans and financial budgets to ensure proper utilization of resources.

  • Coordination of production, documentation and dissemination of the relevant divisions departments.

  • Establishment of relevant efficient and effective departmental work plans, action plans, budgetary projections, time frame, targets, and strategies

  • Accountability in resource utilization

  • Initiate and promote Gender and Disability activities

  • Plan, implement, monitoring, and evaluating programs and projects

  • Develop implementation strategies and tools

  • Handle administrative, human resources and assets management issues.

  • Ensure strict compliance with all financial budgetary and procurement procedures.

  • Formulation and implementation of policies
    and legislations on Gender and Disability mainstreaming.

    Job Requirements

  • A minimum of Bachelor degree in Social Sciences with a bias in Social Work, Sociology, Community Development, Gender Studies, Counseling Psychology, Anthropology or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution.

  • Registered practitioner in any of the following fields: community development, social work, counseling and gender.

  • Must have served for least three years at the level of Assistant Director Gender or its equivalent position.

  • Possess Leadership skills, Communication skills, Interpersonal skills, Organizational skills, Ability to work under pressure, Negotiation skills, Ability to build and lead cohesive teams, Problem solving skills.

  • Must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya on Leadership and integrity.
