Job Requirement

· Bachelor's Degree in Disaster Management, Emergency Management, Public Safety Management, Environmental studies disciplines or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institute

· Served in graded. Senior Disaster Management officer or in a comparable position for minimum periods of 3 years and shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Skills:

Strong leadership and strategic planning capabilities.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Ability to manage budgets and mobilize resources effectively

Awareness of climate change impacts and their integration into disaster risk reduction strategies.

Job Description

· Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to enforce building codes, land-use planning, and environmental conservation measures.

· Act as the primary decision-maker and coordinator during disaster events.

Facilitate communication between agencies, stakeholders, and community leaders during crises.

Lead post-disaster recovery efforts, including damage assessments, resource allocation, and reconstruction.

Monitor recovery progress and adapt strategies as needed.

Track and evaluate the effectiveness of disaster management programs.

Prepare and present reports on disaster risks, responses, and lessons learned.

Maintain a database of disaster incidents and response outcomes.

Promote inclusive disaster management practices that address the needs of vulnerable populations.
