Reporting to the Director, Scheduled Sciences, the Chief Analyst will undertake the following

Responsibilities

Develop draft policy briefs for advisory and priority setting within Humanities and Social Sciences;

Implement programmes for the promotion and awareness creation on the research system within Humanities and Social Sciences;

Propose priority programmes for the development of Humanities and Social Sciences;

Provide input into the review of applications for registration of research institutions and licensing of research projects in Humanities and Social Sciences;

Provide secretariat to the Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Research Committee;

Prepare position papers in Humanities and Social Sciences;

Requirements

Bachelors degree in a subject area within the Humanities and Social Sciences field (Linguistics, Anthropology, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Religious Studies, Geography, Psychology, Archeology, Anthropology, Philosophy, History, Demography, Theology)or equivalent from a recognized university;

Masters degree in a subject area within the Humanities and Social Sciences field specified in (i) above or equivalent from a recognized university;

At least ten (10) years relevant work experience in a public or private institution;

At least three (3) years’ experience in management;

Demonstrated results in work performance;
Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable;

Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution; and

Demonstrate the following key competencies and skills:

Proficiency in IT;

Communication and reporting skills;

Strategic thinking;

Analytical skills;

Interpersonal and negotiation skills;
Integrity;

Team player;

Mentoring, coaching and

leadership skills;
