Our Client is a Society set apart for children's care, protection, welfare, and adoption. The Society wishes to seek qualified and dedicated candidates for the positions below to improve its mandate for Emergency Response, Welfare, and Rescue for Children at a national level.

General Duties

  • The Nurse will be responsible to the Branch Administrative Officer at the TPS for the performance of general and medical duties such as:

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • The nurse provides preventative and acute care to children and adolescents.They will perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, update patient records and measure vital statistics.

  • Working with children and asking questions about their health for diagnosis and documenting symptoms and medical history for the clinical.

  • Assessing a child’s needs and providing initial care.

  • Identifying changes in children’s symptoms and intervening in emergency situations.

  • Participating in pain management for children.

  • Administering medications, drawing blood, and giving childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines.

  • Monitoring temperature, pulse, breathing, and pressure and keeping accurate records.

  • Evaluating children for signs and symptoms of abuse.

  • Taking samples from sick children and monitoring their pulse and temperature.

  • Checking on the condition of sick children.

  • Dealing with emergencies.writing records.providing emotional support and reassurance to sick children.

  • Remaining up to date on the latest developments, rules and regulations, drug
    therapies, equipment, and treatment procedures.

    Key competencies

  • Communication- Clear, concise communication and active listening skills can help a nurse relay information between sick children and the doctor effectively.

  • Time management.

  • Empathy to make children feel cared for.

  • Relationship building.

  • Basic nursing skills like performing routine assessments and simple procedures, assisting with check-ups, changing bandages, and administering emergency care when needed.

  • Technological skills- may use many types of computer programs and technological equipment to track treatment plans, patient medications, and medical histories. They may also need to operate basic medical equipment, such as heart rate or blood pressure monitors.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Confidentiality and ethics.

  • Understanding of child development.

  • Teamwork and dependability.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

    Qualifications

  • Diploma in Nursing, Practicing License, and 4-year experience.
