    Job Role:

    The Clerk of Works is responsible for ensuring high standards of quality control are maintained through monitoring of construction, contract progress, procedures, workmanship, schedules and the overall safety and effective coordination between the contractor, the consultants and the management. This position reports to the Project Manager.

    Duties and responsibilities

  • Coordinate, monitor, inspect and supervise construction works, and stringing activities;
  • Daily supervision of Works; conduct on-site observation and spot-checks of work in progress;
  • Participate at all inspections and testing of the works;
  • Ensure contract compliance by the contractor, such as conducting tests specified in contract and installing materials/equipment as specified in contract, and report deficiencies to Project Manager;
  • Provide reports on all on-site matters, including third-party inspections, progress, safety concerns, and causes for delay and report to Project Manager;
  • Maintain job-site files, documents, reports and daily log; prepare periodic reports as required;
  • Ensure that construction requirement and regulations including permits, safety, insurance etc are adhered to;
  • Attend and present COW weekly reports at regular site inspections and site meetings;
  • Preparing a schedule of defects to be made good at the end of the defects liability period;
  • Participate in Commissioning
    and Handover of various projects;
  • Any other duties assigned by the Project Manager.

    Qualifications and Experience
  • Higher National Diploma (preferably KNEC) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering/Building Construction;
  • Registered with National Construction Authority as a Supervisor;
  • Have at least 2-3 years’ experience in same capacity, in construction industry;
  • Practical experience in MS Project – preferred.
