Muranga County Principal Environment and Natural Resource Officer JobsPrincipal Environment and Natural Resource Officer, Job Group ‘N’ – 1 PostRequirements for AppointmentBachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines:- Environmental Science, Environmental
Conservation and Natural Resource Management, water resources and environment, wildlife
management, Zoology or related field from a recognized institution;
Certificate in any of the following disciplines lasting not less than two (2) weeks: - Project
Planning and Management, International Relations, Community Development, Negotiation
Skills, Environment Impact Assessment and Audit, Strategic Environment Assessment or
Environmental Governance from a recognized institution;
Have served for a period of not less than eight (8) years, three (3) of which must be in a
management position in either public or private sector;
Certificate in Computer applications from a recognized institution;
Demonstrated administrative and professional competence as reflected in work performance
Meets the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
Duties and responsibilities
Managing programs and projects;
Carrying out environmental outreach activities;
Validating technical reports;
Facilitating consultative fora;
Collating information for preparing policies, legislations, strategies, action plans, speeches,
Developing and maintaining databases related to environment and natural resources;
Developing research proposals;
Coordinating stakeholders in implementation of environment and natural resources matters;
Undertaking monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
The salary, allowances and other benefits attached to this position will be as determined by
the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
