Murang’a County is one of the five counties in the Central region of the Republic of Kenya. It is bordered to the North by Nyeri, to the South by Kiambu, to the West by Nyandarua and to the East by Kirinyaga, Embu and Machakos counties.

It lies between latitudes 0o 34’ South and 107’ South and Longitudes 36o East and 37o 27’ East. The county occupies a total area of 2,558.8Km2.

Murang’a County Public Service Board on behalf of MURANG’A COUNTY CREAMERIES wishes to advertise for the following post:

Quality Officer

Purpose

To test milk and its by-products in accordance with the set Quality standards

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzing bacteriological and microbiological content of milk and milk products
  • Analyzing chemical content of milk and milk products
  • Grading milk at the point of receipt
  • Sampling milk at the various critical control points/stages of processing
  • Standardizing of chemicals for milk testing
  • Testing detergent concentration before the cleaning process
  • Cleaning the laboratory
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisor

    Qualifications and Experience

  • Higher National Diploma in Laboratory Technology/Food Science/Analytical
    Chemistry
  • 2 years’ experience in related field
