Job Description

  • Mulugeta Mekonnen Import Export is engaged in a well-diversified business sectors such as import, export, manufacturing, transport, rental, construction, water drilling.

  • The Company is in a transformation process to support its processes with well-designed policies and procedures and integration through the ERP System.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, supervise and manage the stock control activities;

  • Ensure that accurate and complete stock recording, reporting, reconciling and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant documentations are maintained;

  • Ensure undertaking of stock cycle counts of based upon computer-monitored minimum re-order listing; and coordinate conducting complete physical stock taking monthly, semi-annually, and annually;

  • Propose to the Manager-Supply Chain for variation occurred during stock taking by setting a certain tolerance limit.

  • Retain, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned inventory control staffs;

  • Observe health and safety regulations; check maintenance of the warehouse in a clean, safe and orderly condition;

  • Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures;

  • Timely record the physical quantity and the price of each item to the system, and amount of received and distributed items;

  • Claim user organs as per the quantity of items distributed to them and the price set for the case ;

  • Reconcile inventory stock balance in terms of quantity and price against the records of the Finance Department;

  • Reconcile quantity of inventory stock balance with warehouse record balance;

  • Make the necessary adjustments when items are returned to the warehouse in line with the Warehouse & Inventory Management Procedure;

  • Maintain Stock items using ABC analysis or other appropriate techniques, as per the Warehouse & Inventory Management Procedure according to the frequency or value of the item;

  • Properly classify and maintain inventory items in terms of supply risk and expenditure;

  • Propose and set minimum, maximum stock/ reorder level for all operational stock items based on their
    supply risk and expenditure;

  • Make the necessary adjustment on unit cost to include additional cost incurred other than the purchase order amount;

  • Prepare Purchase requisition when the actual stock level reaches at minimum level based on the reorder level and follow-up the purchase requisition;

  • Process tagging for Fixed Asset items delivered/issued;

  • Review and conduct surprise checking stock items when needed by taking snapshot system record quantity;

  • Undertake monthly, semiannual and annual inventory of stock and generate inventory counting report;

  • Make necessary adjustment for the variation occurred during stock taking after approval of team leader;

  • Transfer the inventory transaction by closing the accounting period and forward to General ledger;

  • Attend queries related to Supplies Stock Accounts;

  • Record used and disposable items;

  • Regularly supervise the activity of inventory clerk under the domain.

  • Basic computer knowledge particularly accounting software and other related accounting system, like MS office. Knowledge and experience in the implementation and running of ERP/MRP is a plus.

  • Experience in manufacturing, Import and Export lines of business is advantageous.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and the Managing Director.

    Job Requirements

    Education

  • Diploma or BA Degree in Supply Chain Management or Purchasing & Supplies, Additional Qualification is advantageous

    Work Experience

  • 4 years for Diploma and 4 years for BA degree, as Inventory Controller or storekeeper.
