Multimedia University of Kenya is a chartered public University located in the City of Nairobi within a serene environment about 25 kilometers to the south of the City along

Magadi Road.

The University is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the following
positions:

FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES & TECHNOLOGY

Multimedia University of Kenya Senior Lecturer, Sociology Vacancies

Grade MAC 13 – Ref: MMU/EA/01/04/2018

Responsibilities

Lecturing specific units of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;

Participating in review and preparation of training courses, programmes and schemes of work;

Assessing student’s performance and preparing students progress reports;

Carrying out research work in relevant field or specialization; and

Assisting in conducting seminars/workshops or symposia and coordinate courses.

Coordinating of course, project and practical work;

Preparing teaching/learning materials;

Setting and marking examination/ assignments;

Maintaining discipline in lecture rooms/halls;

Developing proposals to attract research grants.

Writing journal articles and books;

Presenting academic papers in seminars/workshops or symposia;

Peer-reviewing of publications to in academic journals;

Developing and reviewing academic programmes/curricula;

Supervising Tutorial/Junior Research Fellows and students.

Develop linkages and collaborations for student exchange programs; and

Undertaking consultancy services.

Qualifications

Applicants for the position of Senior Lecturer

Grade MAC 13 MUST be holders of the
following qualifications, relevant work experience and publications as indicated below:-

Must have PhD in Sociology from a recognized/accredited University having
studied Sociology at undergraduate and Master’s level;

Served in the grade of Lecturer/Research Fellow or in a comparable position for
a minimum period of three (3) years or six (6) years research/industry experience;

A minimum of thirty two (32) publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent
twenty four (24) of which should be from refereed scholarly journals.

Supervised at least three (3) postgraduate students to completion;

Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution; and

Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.

Terms and Conditions

The above positions carry competitive remuneration packages which include among
others, basic salary, medical cover, house, transport and leave allowances.

Multimedia University of Kenya Lecturer - Film Production/Scriptwriting Vacancies

[Grade MAC 12 – Ref: MMU/EA/02/04/2018

Duties and Responsibilities

Lecturing in area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;

Qualifications

Applicants for the position of Lecturer – Grade MAC 12 MUST be holders of the following
qualifications, relevant work experience and publications as indicated below:-

PhD degree in Film Production/ Film directing or relevant discipline from
recognized/accredited university;

OR

Masters degree in Film Production/ Film directing/ Film and TV production or
relevant discipline from recognized/accredited university; The applicant must also be pursuing a PhD degree in Film Production/Film Directing;

A minimum of 24 publication points, sixteen (16) of which should be from refereed journal papers or peer reviewed and screened productions;

Minimum three (3) years teaching experience at a University or three (3) years industrial experience.

Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution;

Be registered by relevant Professional Body (where applicable); and

Certificate of Good Conduct
