Human Resource Department
Duties and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate Human Resource policies and guidelines in liaison with the management to inform decisions in human resource matters.
Coordinate raining and Development of various departmental heads through workshops to ensure they are equipped with the right skills.
Oversee the departmental expenditure through reviewing and authorizing transactions to ensure prudent use of departmental resources.
Coordinate the implementation of performance appraisal process to institute proper rewards and sanctions in order to motivate employees and improve performance.
Oversee professional human resource management standards to ensure compliance with legal and statutory regulations.
Coordinate budgeting, allocation and optimal utilization of training resources and opportunities to motivate, retain and improve employee performance.
Ensure compliance with all the statutory and regulatory requirements relating to Human Resource to reduce litigations costs.
Coordinates Compensation and staff motivation, monitor coordinate and implement human resource management policies, rules and regulations to
ensure compliance by employees.
Monitor, coordinate and implement human resource management policies, rules and regulations to ensure compliance by employees.
Undertake organizational development and job reviews to ensure proper placement, improved productivity and organizational performance.
Participate in industrial relations and staff welfare.
Implement the Terms of Service for employees.
Implement HR matters in the University.
Prepare discipline matters for employees in the University.
Handle employee's grievances.
Prepare ad advice on payroll matters.
Manage the payroll for staff including pension schemes and associated services, and administration of all changes.
Prepare the temporary workers wages and payments.
Manage recruitment and retention by implementing talent management and succession to ensure the University has qualified man power.
Advise the management on
human resource needs of the University towards achieving optimal personnel capacity to effectively pursue the University’s mandate.
Undertake skills gaps analysis of the University and identify areas that need
attention and improvement to ensure the University personnel have the appropriate skills.
Advise on human resource planning and succession management to ensure continuity of services to internal and external customers.
Advise on career development and review of Career Progression Guidelines to ensure staff are motivated.
Advise on labour laws and other statutes that impact on human resource in the University to ensure compliance and avoid potential litigation.
Spearhead the development and implementation of human resource management system for proper maintenance and retrieval of records.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:-
Served in the grade of Assistant Registrar for a minimum period of three (3)
years.
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
Riding On Technology, Inspiring Innovation
Master’s degree in relevant field.
Member IHRM
Certificate in Computer Applications skills from a recognized institution
Demonstrate merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
