Mukwano industries Uganda Limited Machinist Jobs in Uganda

Reporting to the Business Unit Manager – Lira, the Successful Candidate Will

Design machine parts to specification using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders.

Measure, examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.

Set up, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools

Monitor the feed and speed of machines during machining process

Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency

Clean and lubricate machines,tools,equipment and your work area

Adhere to company environment, Health and safety regulations while at work

Select the appropriate tools, machines and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work

Performing any other duties assigned by the workshop supervisor

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Higher or Ordinary Diploma or vocational training certificate in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.

2 years of similar role experience in a manufacturing set up.

Skills and Competences

Strong mechanical aptitude skills, strong general management and demonstrated leadership skills, must be good at application of creativity and innovative skills in managing projects, should have good analytical skills, ability to develop, formulate strategy and exercise good judgment, should also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
