Mukwano Industries Machinists Jobs in Uganda

Duties

Reporting to the machine parts to specification using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers or grinders,

Measure, examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers,

Set up, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools,

Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process,

Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency,

Clean and lubricate machines, tools, equipment, Health, and safety regulations while at work,

Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in the preparation of machinery work,

Performing any other duties assigned by the workshop supervisor. Job Ref. No. MIUL/MT*.

Work Conditions

May be required to lift or move items that weigh up to 20 kilograms,

You may spend much of the time on your feet,

You have to adhere to safety precautions due to the high risks involved in operating electrical equipment.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Craft II certificate in Mechanical Engineering.

2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Skills & Professional Attributes Required

Should possess strong general management and leadership skills,

Must possess creativity and innovative skills in managing projects, Should have good analyzing skills as well, problem-solving and able to grasp the problem at hand,

And able to take quick steps to resolve such problems,

Ability to develop, formulate strategy and exercise good judgment,

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
