Job Purpose:

  • Formulate, implement and review of health policies, regulations, standards, guidelines
    and pratocols.
  • Establish strategic partnerships and colIaDoration with stakeholders in
    support of development of clinical services.
  • Promote research, innovation, and
    technology transfer in the provision of clinical services.
  • Develop and implement resource
    mobilization strategy to support provision of clinical and administrative services.
  • Ensure
    prudent resource management, utilization and compliance to budgetary requirements
    and financial reporting.
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate and up to date database of all clinical assets inclu‹Jing
    research projects and intellectual properties.
  • Guide and set standards in the provision of
    services in both clinical and community health practice.

    Responsibilities:

    Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Formulating, implementing and reviewing policies, guidelines, procedures
    professional standards, strategies and ethics go erning medical practice in
    clinical services;
  • Establishing strategic partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders
    in support of development of clinical services;
  • Promoting research, innovation, and technology transfer in the provision of
    clinical services;
  • Developing and implementing resource mobilization strategy to support
    provision of clinical and administrative services;
  • Ensuring prudent resource management, utilization and compliance to
    budgetary requirements and financial reporting;
  • Ensuring maintenance of accurate and up to date database of all clinical
    assets including research projects and intellectual properties;
  • Co-ordinating activities and operations of the Hospital's Clinical services
    and Programs;
  • Guiding and setting standards in the provision of services in both clinical and
    community health practice; and
  • Training and development of clinical staff.

    Minimum Requirements:

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

  • A minimum period of fifteen (15) years relevant work experience with at least ten
    (l0)years’expedencein SeniorManagementPosition.
  • Bachelors of Medicine and Bacheior of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an
    institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
  • Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Medicine,
    Anesthesia, Cardiothoracic Surgery; Dermatology, Ear, Nose and Throat,
    Family Medicine, General Surgery, Geriatrics,
    Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology,
    Occupational Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatrics
    and Chiid Health, Palliative Medicine, Pathology, Plastic and
    Recon5tructive Surgery, Psychiatry, Public Health, Radiology, Health
    Systems Management, Health Economics, Health Informatics,
    Epidemiology, Global Health Policy, Public Health Microbiology and
    Emerging Infectious Diseases, Biostatistics or equivalent qualification
    from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists
    Board.
  • Sub Specialization in any of the fóllowing fields will be an added
    advantage:
    Medicine, Anesthesia, Cardiothoracic Surgery; Dermatology, Ear, Nose
    and Throat, Otorhinolaryngology, Family Medicine, General Surgery,
    Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Nicrobiology, Neurosurgery, Obstetrics and
    Gynaecology, Occupational Medicine, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic
    Surgery, Pediatrics and Child Health, Palliative Medicine, Pathology,
    Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Psychiatry, Public Health,
    Radiology, Health Systems Management, Health Economics, Health
    Informatics, Epidemiology, Global Health Policy, Public Health Microbiology and Emerging Infectious Diseases, Biostatistics or equivalent
    qualification from an institution recognized by the Medical Practitioners and Dentiste Board and/or any other relevant regulatory body.
  • Registration Certificate by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists
    Board.
  • Valid practising license from Medical Practitioners and
    Dentiste Board.
  • Specialist recognition certificate from the Medical Pl actitioners’ and Dentist
    BOâICI.
  • Retention in the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board register.
  • Leadership/Management course lasting not less than six (6)
    weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the constitution of Kenya,
    2010
  • Proficiency in computer applications skills.
  • Demonstrated high professional competence and administrative capabîlity.
