Mission/ Core purpose of the Job

  • To provide support in the execution of the Learning and Development Function activities and overall coordination of the objectives as indicated in the Learning and Development Policy.

    Main Job Functions:

  • Organize and coordinate the implementation of training within the company.

  • Support the SM-L&D with the training Needs Assessments exercise- for business in order to guide the training plan development that supports the various Business Unit Strategies.

  • Drive the development goals/PDPs generation & activation exercise with support of the HRPBs for all employees.

  • Generate reports and records on the training activities carried out i.e., training attendance & training activity, evaluation, MTN Learn usage etc and provide input on training activity for the monthly reports e.g HR activity reports, CEO reports, Group reports and board pack reports.

  • Coordinate and organize timely staff induction programs

  • Generate and maintain a database on training opportunities available both locally and externally.

  • Conduct training evaluations for all trainings conducted and provide reports to the Senior Manager L&D to facilitate ROTI analytics.

  • Take ownership and management of training costs and monitor utilization of the division training budgets and provide status reports to the SM L&D on a quarterly basis.

  • Own the new hire onboarding and track as well as report on the 30.60.90 boarding activities and ensure they are conducted for each new employee as well as the Internal movements onboarding replica with the support of HRBPs.

  • Take ownership, coordination and implementation of the MTN Uganda internship program

  • Drive the uptake, optimal utilization of the MTN Learn learning platform and all MTN Academy resources in order to augment the learning organization strategy in MTN Uganda

  • Process Learning & Development related invoices in Oracle fusion and follow up with procurement for LPOs and Finance-Payables for timely supplier payments

  • Ensure proper custody of
    Learning & Development equipment, maintenance control of the Learning facilities

  • Provide first line MTN Learn support for employees on all their access and usage inquiries maintain the 24hour service level

  • Support the SM Manager-Learning & Development in following-up and ensuring implementation of MTN Group HR programs like the LEAP, REACH, Crucial conversations and any other Strategic initiatives etc.

  • Carryout any other Learning and Development duties as prescribed from time to time by the SM Learning & Development.

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Social Work and Social Administration, Social
    Sciences or Education

  • Post- Graduate training in Human Resources Management/Development is required.

    Experience:

  • 3 years’ experience in HR Management particularly in the Learning & Development function.

  • Experience in a multi-cultural/multinational company.

  • Exposure in a Telecommunications Organization desirable.

    Attributes & Skills:

  • Fluent in both written and oral communication

  • Good Communication and Interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent Planning, Organizational and Coordination skills.

  • Well-developed Negotiation skills

  • Good Training delivery skills

  • Good presentation skills

  • Highly Tech Savvy

  • Ability to work under minimum supervision

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet stipulated deadlines.

    Training:

  • In-depth Knowledge on the execution of the Training function.

  • Training of Trainers (TOT).

  • Knowledge of Training delivery methodologies.
