MSI - USAID/Strengthening Systems and Public Accountability Activity Chief of Party Jobs in Uganda

Position Summary

The chief of party (COP) will lead and manage MSI’s efforts to achieve the project results.

The will provide vision and overall leadership to MSI’s operations and drive the achievement of project results by ensuring the provision of timely, relevant, and high quality services.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership, overall project management, and quality assurance oversight.

Supervise project personnel, short-term experts, subcontractors, and grantees to achieve project objectives and targets, and ensure timely implementation.

Develop and maintain effective partnerships with development partners such as government institutions, private sector, civil society, etc.

Ensure timely, accurate and user-friendly reporting on the progress and status of all services provided under the contract.

Ensure the USAID compliance and integrity of all project operations.

Serve as MSI’s primary liaison with USAID on day-to-day project implementation and management issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in public administration, international relations, economics, business administration, law or a related field.

Master’s degree preferred.

At least ten (10) years’ experience working in project management in developing countries, and demonstrated management and leadership skills working with large and complex programs.

Substantial technical expertise in anti-corruption reforms working with governmental

and non-governmental institutions.

Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management capacity that includes providing technical and administrative oversight of consultants and subcontractors in a multicultural setting.

Knowledge of and prior experience working on USAID-funded activities strongly preferred.

Prior experience as Chief of Party, Country Director or its equivalent, is preferred.

Experience working on development programs in the East Africa region is desirable.

Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communications skills required, with proficiency in Swahili or Luganda

preferred
