MSF Switzerland (MSFCH) is a humanitarian medical organization providing emergency medical aid to populations in need. In partnership & collaboration with the Mombasa County Government/Department of Health, MSFCH implements ‘Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare’ services at the Mrima health facility in Likoni, sub-county of Mombasa. The objective of the activities is to increase access to quality maternal & neonatal health care services to contribute in improving maternal and newborn outcomes

MSF Switzerland Kenya Supply-procurement assistant (Pharmacy Storekeeper) Jobs Vacancies

Responsibilities

  • Supervise material orders and dispatching in order to ensure rational use.
  • Receive orders and deliveries, identifying potential disparities against cargo manifest or others and reporting them, and stores materials in accordance with the system in force, in order to ensure continuous availability. It includes:
  • Ensure correct filling in of entries on the stock cards and software, incl. medical devices and related items (collaborating with project biomedical service)
  • Prepare orders of the different consumption units (departments, wards, other), ensuring the packaging and proper dispatching. reporting any anomalies or changes in consumption patterns to the Pharmacy Supervisor. Inform Pharmacy Supervisor as soon as stock reaches alert limit. Inform project Biomedical service before dispatching any medical devices.
  • Carry out or participate in regular inventories including EPREP stock.
  • Report missing material/ damage/ theft.
  • Control warehouse limited access to authorized personnel and ensure doors and other exists are secured.
  • Ensures good storage conditions of all items in the pharmacy.
  • Control warehouse facilities in order to ensure materials good keeping conditions. It includes:
  • Monitor temperature in the warehouse/storeroom and ensure that products requiring cold chain are suitably stored and transports received and prepared appropriately according to MSF Supply and Cold Chain protocols
  • Ensure cleanliness of premises (stock pharmacy).

    Qualifications

  • Essential secondary education
  • Desirable medical related studies
  • Essential previous experience of at least 2 years in similar or relevant positions.
  • Desirable previous experience in MSF
  • Kiswahili and English
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
  • Results, teamwork, commitment, flexibility, service

    MSF Switzerland Kenya Neonatal nurse Jobs Vacancies

    Responsibilities

  • Sending material to be sterilized and recuperates it from sterilization
  • Carrying out admission, surveillance and follow-up of patients (i.e. assessment of the evolution of their state of health and the identification of any emergency situation or deterioration
  • Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise.
  • Participates in data collection
  • Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorisation, etc.)
  • Supervising and training nurse-aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners and other related staff under his/her supervision, ensuring teamwork and adherence to all appropriate protocols and procedures
  • Demonstrated interest in newborn and kangaroo mother care
  • Strictly adheres to universal precautions
  • Reports broken or faulty equipment to immediate supervisor or relevant person
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment within the department under the guidance of biomedical technologist
  • Participates in rationale use of drugs reviews
  • Participates in data registration and reporting
  • Participates in consumption monitoring and reporting according to the
    department
  • Facilitates the maternal child bonding process
  • Advises on breastfeeding and kangaroo mother care
  • Attends neonatal training and CME when provided

    Qualifications

  • Diploma in any of the following disciplines:
  • Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing,
  • Kenya Registered Nursing
  • Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Strong interpersonal skills, strong initiative, flexible, able to handle complex as-signments with proactive attitude, punctuality, reliability and commitment
  • Essential previous experience of at least 2 years as a nurse or neonatal/newborn care
  • Kiswahili and English
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

    MSF Switzerland Kenya Medical Activity Manager Jobs Vacancies

    Responsibilities

  • Provide health care related to SRH and Neonates, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ensure the implementation of validated clinical policies, tools, guidelines and protocols related to gynecology, obstetrics and neonates in order to minimize clinical risk and to extend best reproductive practices.
  • In collaboration with other medical colleagues, carry out the collection of quantitative gynecological data and ensure exhaustive use of management tools in order to improve gynecological results and to share knowledge among other field specialists.
  • Plan and supervise the HR associated processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, development and internal/external communication) of the gynecological staff in order to ensure both an efficient sizing and the amount of knowledge required, to improve people’s capabilities and their active participation in influencing the targeted population using preventive practices. This will be done in close coordination with the HR department.
  • Supervise the maintenance and running of the gynecological equipment and drug consumption, preparing new orders when required and ensuring its rational use as well as that pharmacy stock levels are continually updated and available. This will be done in cooperation with the pharmacist and logistic staff, the management,
  • Works in collaboration with the Project Medical Referent
  • Demonstrated transversal competencies in management and supervision skills: a capacity for reporting, synthesis of information, analysing data and identifying strategies for mitigating recurrent problems
  • Interest in leadership and team management
  • Ability to identify priorities and be proactive in managing challenges
  • Shows initiative and creativity in problem solving

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) degree from an institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board
  • Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board;
  • Certificate in Computer Application Skills from a recognized institution
  • Diploma in clinical medicine and surgery or clinical medicine and community health from a recognised institution;
  • Certificate of registration from the clinical officers’ council;
  • Essential at least 2 year certified work experience in SRH and pediatrics
  • Desirable previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s
  • Kiswahili and English
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
