MSEA Chief Legal Officer Jobs in Kenya

Reporting to the CEO the Chief Legal Officer will be responsible for providing legal advice to the Authority on matters relating to Micro and Small enterprises.

Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Implementing policies, guidelines and regulations on legal matters;
  • Providing legal advice and legal representation;
  • Developing and reviewing documentation on contracts, Memoranda of Understanding and partnership agreements in MSEA;
  • Preparing and reviewing legal documents/instruments’
  • Preparing legal opinions and briefs;
  • Ensuring compliance with the policies and regulations in all the undertakings of MSEA; and
  • Liaising with the Office of the Attorney General on legal matters.

    Qualifications and Skills

    For appointment to this position an officer must have;-

  • Minimum experience of ten (10) years, three (3) of which must have been in a senior management position in a micro and small enterprises or in a comparable position;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution;
  • Master’s degree in Law (MLL);
  • Postgraduate diploma in Law from a recognized institution;
  • Certified Public Secretary or equivalent;
  • Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than six (6) weeks;
  • Proficiency in computer application;
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of the mission, vision, and strategies of MSEA and the ability to interpret clearly and apply the role of Micro and Small Enterprise in Kenya’s social economic development and particularly in line with vision 2030 and Big 4 Agenda.
  • In addition, all prospective candidates Must satisfy the requirements of leadership and integrity as set out in Chapter six (6) of the constitution of Kenya and attach the following documents to their

  • Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission clearance Certificate (EACC)
  • Kenya Revenue Authority Tax compliance Certificate (KRA)
  • Higher Education Loans Board clearance Certificate(HELB)
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
  • Certificate from Credit Reference Bureau
