Mr Price Group Responsible Sourcing Manager Jobs in South Africa; The Responsible Sourcing Manager will reduce risk by ensuring factories and suppliers develop, implement, and update responsible strategic plans. The role involves oversight, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on compliance impact, while building strong supplier relationships and driving sustainability initiatives.

Responsibilities

Research & Strategy Development

  • Stay updated on responsible business practices per region to reduce risk and drive compliance.

  • Research new factories for production in collaboration with sourcing.

  • Create compliance‑readiness strategies for regions and suppliers.

  • Develop and implement responsible sourcing strategy, policies, and standards.

    Compliance Implementation & Monitoring

  • Ensure suppliers have strategies for BBBEE and social compliance.

  • Support suppliers in executing compliance strategies and remediation action plans.

  • Guide suppliers and Merch team in achieving compliance for special brand agreements.

    Communication & Reporting

  • Report progress on BBBEE and social compliance to Directors and highlight risks.

  • Prepare Board reports and responses to factory compliance issues.

  • Build strategic supplier relationships and execute seasonal readiness strategies.

  • Collaborate with sourcing and merchandise teams to support product strategy.

    Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Clothing Management or related field (Mandatory).

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in
    mid‑ to senior‑management roles in responsible sourcing, ethical sourcing, or sustainability (preferably fashion/retail).

  • Experience in Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and compliance training across international and South African contexts.

  • Proven success in managing multi‑stakeholder programs and developing policies/SOPs.

  • Ability to make decisions and navigate ambiguity with minimal oversight.

  • High ethical standards and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Technical knowledge of compliance, social audits, sustainability, ethical sourcing, BBBEE, and social responsibility standards.

  • Strong awareness of global and local supply chain sustainability issues.
