M.P. Shah Hospital Radiology Manager Jobs in Kenya
The Radiology Manager provides day‑to‑day operational leadership and management of the Radiology Department, ensuring safe, timely, patient‑centred, and high‑quality diagnostic imaging services. The role oversees workforce coordination, service delivery, equipment utilization, quality and safety systems, regulatory compliance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement, while supporting the Head of Department in implementing clinical, operational, and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Service Operations
Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily radiology operations across modalities
Maintain safe patient flow, appropriate staffing, and efficient utilization of imaging capacity
Workforce Management
Prepare duty rosters, allocate staff, monitor attendance and leave
Support recruitment, onboarding, and address performance issues
Quality & Patient Safety
Implement and audit imaging protocols, QA/QC processes
Investigate incidents, complaints, and service failures; ensure corrective actions
Equipment & Infrastructure
Monitor equipment performance, uptime, and preventive maintenance
Coordinate fault reporting, service visits, and contribute to procurement planning
Performance & Turnaround Time
Monitor workload, waiting times, reporting workflows, and turnaround indicators
Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective measures
Governance & Documentation
Ensure departmental policies, SOPs, records, and audits are accurate and current
Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality and hospital accreditation standards
Radiation Safety
Support implementation of radiation‑safety requirements with Radiation Safety Officer
Ensure staff compliance and corrective actions for safety concerns
Resource & Cost Management
Support budgeting and cost control
Monitor consumables, contrast media, stock levels, and overtime utilization
Staff Development
Identify training needs, coordinate induction and competency assessments
Promote professionalism, teamwork, and continuous learning
Stakeholder Coordination
Liaise with
HoD, radiologists, nursing, wards, clinics, theatres, and other departments
Resolve operational issues and improve patient pathways
Digital Systems & Improvement
Support effective use of RIS, PACS, and digital tools
Participate in service redesign, automation, and data‑quality projects
Service Development & Change Management
Support implementation of new imaging services, equipment, and workflows
Coordinate staff readiness, documentation, training, and rollout
Leadership & Escalation
Act as operational focal point for the department
Manage day‑to‑day escalations and refer matters requiring HoD authority
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Radiography/Medical Imaging (Bachelor’s preferred)
Postgraduate qualification in healthcare management, leadership, or quality management is an advantage
Experience in JCI‑accredited hospital or quality‑improvement activities preferred
Minimum 5 years’ radiology/imaging experience, including 2 years in supervisory/management role
Current professional registration/licensure in good standing with Kenyan regulatory requirements
Knowledge of patient safety, data protection, quality management, and accreditation standards
