Mount Kenya University Tutorial Fellow, Special Needs Education-inclusive Education Jobs in Kenya; The Tutorial Fellow will be responsible for teaching, research, and academic support in the area of Special Needs Education – Inclusive Education. The role involves curriculum development, student supervision, and participation in departmental and university activities to promote inclusive learning and academic excellence.

Qualifications, Education, Skills & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Special Needs Education (Inclusive Education) from a recognized academic institution.

  • Bachelor of Education (Special Needs Education) with a specialization in Inclusive Education.

  • At least two (2) years of teaching experience at the university level.

  • Registration by the relevant professional body.

    Key Responsibilities

    Reporting to: Dean, School of Education

  • Participate in curriculum development and review.

  • Prepare course outlines to guide effective delivery and syllabus coverage.

  • Develop learning content to ensure adequate coverage of course outlines.

  • Teach undergraduate, diploma, and certificate courses.

  • Set, invigilate, and administer examinations; provide progressive reports to the department.

  • Supervise students’ projects and attend defense meetings to support completion of studies.

  • Conduct research, prepare publications, and participate in conferences to disseminate knowledge.

  • Attract funding to
    support university research initiatives.

  • Facilitate field studies and assess students during attachments, trips, and internships.

  • Participate in official university meetings and functions.

  • Monitor class attendance to ensure students meet the required four‑fifths lecture attendance before examinations.

  • Perform administrative and other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
