Morsan HR Consulting Farm Manager Jobs in Kenya; Our client seeks a practical, hands‑on and results‑driven Farm Manager to oversee daily operations of two farms in Kisii, covering dairy and crop production. The role ensures efficient farm operations, healthy livestock, strong crop yields, proper use of inputs, effective supervision of workers and accurate farm records. The manager will plan and coordinate activities, monitor productivity and costs, identify issues early and ensure sustainable, safe farm operations.
Key Responsibilities
Farm Operations & Planning
Oversee daily operations and ensure timely completion of farm activities.
Develop weekly and monthly work plans for dairy, crops, labour and inputs.
Coordinate activities between farms and allocate resources effectively.
Monitor productivity, costs and recommend improvements.
Maintain accurate farm records and submit updates to management.
Dairy Farm Management
Oversee feeding, watering, milking, breeding and welfare of cattle.
Monitor milk production and maintain records.
Ensure proper feeding programs and fodder availability.
Coordinate animal health activities including vaccinations and treatments.
Maintain breeding, calving and livestock movement records.
Ensure hygiene in milking areas and housing.
Crop Production Management
Plan and supervise land preparation, planting, weeding, fertilization, spraying and harvesting.
Prepare seasonal crop plans and ensure timely planting and harvesting.
Monitor crop health, pests, diseases and soil conditions.
Ensure safe handling of fertilizers and chemicals.
Track yields, losses and input usage to improve production.
Coordinate fodder crop production for dairy support.
Oversee coffee plantation management including pruning, pest control and harvesting.
Farm Staff Supervision
Supervise workers and allocate duties.
Monitor attendance, productivity and address performance issues.
Train workers on animal handling, crop production and safety.
Promote accountability, teamwork and adherence to
farm rules.
Inventory, Maintenance & Cost Control
Maintain stock records for feeds, seeds, chemicals and tools.
Monitor consumption and prevent misuse or wastage.
Coordinate servicing and maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
Support procurement and verify deliveries.
Track expenses and provide accurate budgeting information.
Compliance, Safety & Reporting
Ensure compliance with agricultural, animal welfare and safety standards.
Ensure safe storage and use of medicines, chemicals and tools.
Maintain livestock, crop and production records.
Prepare weekly and monthly performance reports.
Escalate disease outbreaks, crop losses or major risks immediately.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Dairy Technology, Crop Production or related field.
Over 3 years’ farm management or supervisory experience in dairy and crop farming.
Strong knowledge of dairy cattle management, nutrition, breeding and herd health.
Good knowledge of crop production, pest control and post‑harvest handling.
Experience supervising workers and coordinating multiple farm activities.
Strong record‑keeping, planning and budgeting skills.
Ability to identify problems early and make practical decisions.
High integrity, accountability and willingness to work hands‑on.
