Job Details

Compliance Officer

Ensuring that the company’s operations and its employees adhere to the applicable laws and policies

Providing audit information to management by researching and analyzing data, preparing reports, conducting risk assessments and enforcing corrective action where necessary.

Responsibilities and Duties

Ensure due diligence is conducted on individual borrowers, companies, organizations, associations, partnerships and loan securities pledged by clients.

Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations

Research, develop, implement, maintain and monitor the compliance activities of the company

Ensure that each department of the organization follows all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsible for compliance audits and examinations, the dissemination and analysis of new or revised laws and regulations, research on compliance issues, compliance training, and their organization’s overall compliance policies and procedures.

Design internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the law both internal and external.

Constant communication with senior management where necessary to ensure the company is informed on regulatory issues

and updates.

Advice, oversee and train staff on compliance procedures.

Monitor company policies and practices to ensure compliance is taking place

Specifying internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance

Exercise due diligence and skill, integrity and safeguard company interests

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in law, risk management, or a related field.

2-3 years’ proven experience in a compliance officer role preferably in a financial institution.

Good knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements and procedures.

Brilliant oral and written communication skills.

Highly-analytical with strong attention to detail

Maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality

Honest, diligent and trustworthy
