Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning Assistant Housekeeper/Cateress, Job Group ‘G Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

Overseeing the cleanliness and
maintenance of rooms;

Care and maintenance of furnishings, equipment and
linen;

Reporting any defects in the guest rooms to the supervisor;

Ensuring that
proper work procedures are followed when handling guest laundry;

Filling in the occurrence book as required.

Qualifications

Are in possession of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)
with a mean grade ‘C-’(minus); and

Have attended a course lasting not less than one (1) year and awarded a Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning Housekeeper/Cateress III, Job Group ‘H’ Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will include:

Keeping proper records of sundry and linen stores;

Supervision of staff;

Following up on maintenance work order forms;

Assisting in stock taking; ordering, receiving, storing and issuing of cleaning materials;

Carrying out on the job training for staff working under him/her and writing and keeping reports on losses, breakages and defects.

Qualifications

Diploma in either of the following disciplines; Hotel Management;
Housekeeping and Front Office Management or Hospitality Management
or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and

Certificate in computer applications.

Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning Cook III, Job Group ‘E’ Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities

This will be the entry grade for the Cooks cadre.

An officer at this level will be on
job training and will carry out duties under the supervision of a senior officer.
Duties will include:

Preparation of raw foods for cooking; cleanliness of
equipment used in production; maintaining hygiene by ensuring cleaning of the
kitchen and its surroundings;

Setting up and preparing equipment for use in food preparation and production;

Alerting the supervisor of any defective
equipment.

Qualifications

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade ‘D’ plain or
its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and

Craft Certificate in Food and Beverage production, Sales and Service or
its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Attended a formal course lasting not less than two (2) months in Food Production organized by the Kenya Utalii College or other recognized institution.
