Ministry of Internal Affairs Principal Government Analyst/ Microbiology and Bio Terrorism Jobs in Uganda

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Biology; or Environmental Science; or Biochemistry; or Biomedical Sciences; or Food Science plus a Masters Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in a Management discipline will be an added advantage.

Working Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been served at Senior Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable Organization.

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner Government Analytical Laboratory for performing the following duties:-

Participating in the development and review of policies, laws, guidelines, standards, plans and strategies for sustainable provision of scientific analysis, forensic investigation and Advisory services;

Participating in the implementation of policies, guidelines, standards, plans and strategies of scientific analysis, forensic investigation and Advisory Services;

Participating in quality assurance and management

of scientific analysis, forensic investigation and Advisory services;

Participating in the operationalization and maintenance of an up-to-date database on all scientific analysis and forensic investigation services;

Supervising the statutory microbiology testing and forensic investigations, examination and scientific analysis of samples in the Division;

Supervising research and development in the Division;

Preparing Division’s budgets, workplans and reports;

Supervising and appraising staff under him/her;

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
