Ministry of Health Principal Physiotherapist Jobs in Uganda

Qualifications:

Must have a Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized Institution.

Must have a Diploma in Management or Administration from a recognized Institution.

Experience

Must have served for at least six (6) years as a Health Worker, three (3) of which should have been at the level of Senior Physiotherapist.

Other Requirements

Good communication, interpersonal, counseling and team building skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plan, budget, coordinate, monitor and evaluate physiotherapy activities in the hospital.

Provide rehabilitative services to patients.

Advise on specifications for physiotherapy appliances.

Train patients on the use of physiotherapy methods and appliances.

Organize and conduct physiotherapy outreach services.

Requisition for equipment and other supplies in the unit.

Ensure quality assurance in physiotherapy services.

Ensure that equipment are secure, functional and well maintained.

Initiate and participate in research activities.

Impart knowledge and skills to students and staff.

Manage and account for allocated resources.

Promote observance of the professional Codes of Conduct and Ethics by staff under him/or her.

Carry out human resource management activities like identifying manpower needs, training, leave and deployment.

Compile and submit periodic reports.

Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
