Ministry of Health Commissioner, Pharmaceuticals and Jobs in Uganda



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

  • A Master’s Degree in Pharmacy or Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
    Experience:

  • Should have practical experience in the delivery of pharmaceutical services gained from at least twelve (12) years of experience, three (3) of which should be at the level of Assistant Commissioner.

    Other Requirements:

  • Strong management, communication, and interpersonal skills, high integrity and a community service ethic.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop policy and standards related to pharmaceutical management.

  • Liaise with the National Drug Authority and the National Medical Stores to ensure efficient operation of the national pharmaceuticals framework.

  • Provide capacity building and technical support related to pharmaceutical management.

  • Oversee implementation of policy and standards relating to pharmaceutical management.

  • Develop and implement work plans and budgets for the Department.

  • Assess performance of staff within the Department as part of the result-oriented management framework.

  • Produce performance reports for the Department.

  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
