Minimum Qualification

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Physics; or Geophysics; or Physics and Mathematics; or Seismology; or Science and Technology with a bias in Physics from a recognized University/Institution.

    Working Experience

    Duties
    The Incumbent Will Be Responsible to the Senior Seismologist for Performing the Following Duties:-

  • Siting, Calibrating and maintaining earthquake recording stations;

  • Collecting of earthquake data;

  • Predicting quarterly and annual earthquake bulletins;

  • Carrying out geotechnical investigations using active seismic survey;

  • Carrying out research on improving locations of earthquake events;

  • Training geophysical technicians in handling of sensitive equipment;

  • Supervising and appraising the geophysical technicians;

  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
