Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development Geologist, Mines Jobs in Uganda



Minimum Qualification

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Geology; or Geology and Chemistry; or Geology and Physics; or any Geoscience from a recognized University/Institution.

    Working Experience

    Duties

    The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Geologist for performing the following duties:-

  • Reviewing exploration work plans and mine development plans accompanying applications for mineral rights;

  • Conducting surveys and interpreting mine geological data;

  • Carrying out geological research in mining projects;

  • Investigating geologic factors that affect mine structures;

  • Performing detailed geological risk analysis of proposed mine targets;

  • Advising on suitable sites for landfill or storage of mining waste;

  • Developing databases to organize geological information;

  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
