Qualifications and Requirements:

For appointment to this grade a candidate must have a:-

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), mean grade C (Plain)

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive option) or other equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; and

valid driving license.

Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities

This is the entry and training grade for this cadre.

An officer at this level will be based in the Central/Regional workshops and will be attached to a small motor vehicle or Plant repair section.

The officer will be supervised by a senior officer.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:-

in the repair and Maintenance of motor vehicles and plant

inspect, and test vehicles and equipment before and after repairs; and

conduct proficiency test for drivers
