Job purpose:

  • The overall role of Logistics Officer is to ensure that planting material and inputs are supplied on time, with the right specifications and in the required location.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control the movement of all planting materials, fertilizers and other inputs used in oil palm production.

  • Ensure that adequate stock is available at all times according to the program’s requirements.

  • Plan, control and register the distribution of all inputs to small holder farmers

  • Ensure that all stock is safe and secure at all times

  • Maintain inventory & stock register/bin cards

  • Maintain and update procurement and asset registers regularly

  • Conduct daily inventory control of all items in stock

  • Provide quarterly item forecasts and estimates

  • Administer the operations of a store, receive, identify and verify goods and provide information to and assists staff.

  • Organize and manage activities of the contracts committee/services cost panel

  • Maintain contacts of suppliers or searches of catalogues to determine price and
    additional details concerning new items.

  • Manage the suppliers of goods and services to the Hub office, including
    transporters as necessary

  • According to requirements and established procedures, ensure fertilizer stock is
    arranged in a safe and secure manner and in line with human
    health safety policies and procedures.

  • Perform any other duties assigned from time to time

    Academic Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and logistics management, supply management or related field

  • A post graduate qualification in the above field is an added advantage

    Working Experience

  • At least five (5) years in a similar function

    Competencies

  • A team player with high levels of integrity

  • Ability to work under minimum supervision
