Ministry of Agriculture - Animal & Fisheries Senior Agricultural Inspector - Zonal Jobs in Uganda

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture;

or Crop Science plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in any of the above fields from a recognized University/Institution

Working Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the field of Agriculture or Crop Science at Agriculture Inspector level, in Government or from a reputable organization.

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Agricultural Inspector, Pests for performing the following duties:

Participating in Private and Public Sector awareness programmes for controlling pests at the Zonal level;

Guiding Local Governments, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries and other stakeholders on pest control strategies at zonal level;

Establishing and operationalizing collaboration mechanisms with research and other organizations nationally, regionally and internationally on pests at zonal level;

Guiding provision and monitoring availability and use of major agricultural chemicals;

Providing support to service providers in the area of pests at zonal level;

Preparing workplans, budgets and performance reports and submitting them to the relevant authorities;

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
