Mini Group Ripening In-Charge Jobs in Kenya; Supervise ripening and sorting operations, ensure quality control, maintain inventory accuracy, and manage staff in ripening chambers. Reporting to the Quality Assurance & Compliance Supervisor, this role is critical in maintaining fruit quality, operational efficiency, and health and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Ripening & Sorting Operations

  • Supervise daily ripening and sorting to achieve optimal quality.

  • Monitor temperature, humidity, and ethylene levels in ripening chambers.

  • Inspect incoming fruits and report quality to procurement team.

  • Schedule and prioritize sorting batches; ensure labor planning by 1600H daily.

    Inventory & Logistics
  • Track and report inventory levels; coordinate supply for steady production.

  • Supervise forklift operations, ensuring safe handling and logical bin arrangement by GRN sequencing.

    Staff Management
  • Manage and train ripening casuals on procedures, safety, and hygiene standards.

  • Provide guidance and ensure compliance with operational protocols.

    Quality & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate records of ripening times, conditions, and outcomes.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

  • Advise management on process improvements and efficiency.

    Requirements for Appointment

    Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or related field.

  • Certificate or Diploma in Agriculture is an added advantage.

    Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ supervisory experience in avocado production or agricultural operations, preferably in fruit ripening.

    Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of fruit varieties, quality assessment, and ripening processes.

  • Excellent leadership and team motivation skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
