Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail –

Preparing livestock technical information

Providing technical advice in animal production

Livestock marketing and apiculture promoting economic livestock farming

Participating in organizing extension activities

Implementing livestock production programs/projects.

Carrying out practical demonstration and training farmers on livestock production

Collecting and collating livestock data and information for cross-margins

Market access and planning

Advising farmers on group formation

Preparing and participating in field days and agricultural shows to disseminate livestock production technologies

Implementing livestock production programs/projects in areas such as dairy cattle farming.

Requirements for Appointment

Have a bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; animal science, animal production, agriculture, apiculture, food science and technology, agribusiness, range management, natural resource management, livestock/agricultural economics, dairy technology or agricultural education and extension from a recognized institution; and

Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.

Demonstrated merit and shown ability as reflected in work performance results.
