Project Summary:

The Monitoring and Evaluation Support Project (MESP) provides USAID/South Sudan with flexible, demand-driven technical, analytic, advisory, training, monitoring, evaluation, and related support services for performance measurement, including assisting the Mission in complying with new requirements.

The project includes monitoring and evaluation technical support to the Mission for performance management at all levels as well as support to assessments, analytical research, and related services required for new project designs, sector strategies, and broader strategic revisions.

Position Summary:

MSI is recruiting for a six month long intermittent short-term consultancy for the position of Data Analyst to clean, collate, and analyse qualitative data collected through KII and FGDs as part of the Partnership for Resilience and Recovery (PfRR) Community Based Resilience Study (CBRS).

As been predominantly qualitative the data analyst should develop a web-based repository for storage and access to information.

The Data Analyst will work with multi-person third party monitoring teams to clean, consolidate and analyse the collected qualitative PfRR community-based resilience study data for the seven Candidate Partnership Areas (CPA)

targeted.

Responsibilities:
  • Review background documents for the monitoring;
  • Clean the monitoring data before collating the database.
  • Analyze collected data
  • Conduct pattern and frequency analysis for open-ended responses from KIIs and FGDs;
  • The analysis may include descriptive statistics based on data obtained through checklists and across beneficiaries;
  • Develop and enter the collected data into a web-based data repository; and
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned by the assignment manager and/or team lead for the successful completion of the assignment.

    Qualifications:
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., statistics or related field);
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data;
  • Excellent MS Excel skills required;
  • Excellent analytical and personal communication skills; and
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
