Meru County Government Director Cooperative Development Jobs in Kenya

The County Government of Meru wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill vacancies in the following departments as per the constitution of Kenya 2010.


Department of Trade, Investment, Industrialization, Tourism and Cooperatives

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical advice on cooperative
    investments, finance, credit, marketing,
  • Project management, extension and advisory services,developing and ensuring implementation of policies, enforcing compliance with cooperatives legislation, designing, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of cooperative activities, programmes and policies,
  • Carrying out market research and disseminating research findings, preparing and
    validating registration and deregistration of
    cooperative societies’ documents,monitoring
    cooperative societies’ liquidation process, developing education and training packages for
    the cooperative movement, promoting value
    addition and processing , conducting cooperative banking inspections,
    undertaking cooperative risk assessment.
  • Developing new financial products, new credit policies and other cooperative
    ventures, and be responsible for staff supervision, development and appraisal in the
    Directorate/Division

    Qualifications

  • Must have KCSE C+ and above or its equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: disciplines;- Commerce, Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Law, Agricultural Economics, Cooperative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational
    Development, Finance of Agri-Business from a
    recognized Institution
  • Must have a Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines;- Commerce, Business
    Administration, Agriculture, Economics,
    Sociology, Law, Agricultural Economics, Cooperative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational
    Development, Finance of Agri-Business from a
    recognized Institution
  • Served in the Grade of Senior Assistant
    Commissioner for Cooperative Development or an
    equivalent position for a minimum period of three (3) years
  • Must have a Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not
    less than six (6) weeks from a recognized
    institution OR attended senior management
    course from Kenya school of government
  • Certificate in computer applications from a
    recognized institution,
  • Demonstrated managerial, administrative and
    professional competence in work performance
    and exhibited a thorough understanding of
    national goals, policies, objectives and ability to relate them to the Cooperative
    Development and Marketing Function

  • Higher Education Loans Board
  • Criminal Investigation Department
  • Commission for Higher Education; for those with certificates from Private and foreign universities.
