Mercy Corps Program Assistant Jobs in Kenya;The Border Security Programme addresses irregular migration and associated criminal activity in East Africa, focusing on prevention, protection, and pursuit of human traffickers and smugglers exploiting vulnerable populations. Initial interventions will take place in Kenya border regions, with phased expansion to Uganda, Ethiopia, and possibly Somalia.
General Position Summary
The Programme Support Assistant will provide administrative and logistical support for programme leadership and technical teams based in Nairobi. The role includes managing government agreements, supporting daily workflows, coordinating meetings and events, compiling reports, and liaising with procurement, finance, and People & Culture teams to ensure smooth programme operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
General Project Administration
Manage daily administrative workflow under the Team Leader.
Schedule meetings, take notes, manage letters, update calendars, and streamline processes.
Support documentation and reporting tasks.
Conference / Meeting Logistics
Coordinate venues, materials, travel, and accommodation for meetings and workshops.
Procurement & Travel
Assist in procurement planning, raising PRs, and tracking progress.
Arrange travel bookings, TARs, and accommodation for BSP teams.
People & Culture Support
Assist recruitment processes, including PRFs and coordination with P&C.
Track team leave balances and provide periodic updates.
Team Coordination & Reporting
Support cross‑team coordination with SLT, field, operations, and finance.
Organize BSP leadership meetings, prepare agendas, take notes, and follow up on action points.
Maintain filing systems for agreements, reports, research, and communications.
Communications Support
Manage communication flows across Nairobi and
county teams.
Support production and dissemination of internal/external communications.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
Integrate safeguarding into daily work, identifying risks and mitigations.
Respect dignity and well‑being of participants and team members.
Encourage openness and reporting of concerns via Integrity Hotline or other mechanisms.

Qualifications & Experience
2–3 years’ administration or programme support experience.
University degree in community development, business, accounting, international relations, or political science.
Excellent oral and written English skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Flexible, creative, and team‑oriented.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
