Mercy Corps Logistics Intern in Uganda

Mercy Corps Uganda is an international, non-governmental humanitarian relief and development agency with headquarters in the UK and USA operating in over 44 countries.


The agency exists to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities.


Mercy Corps’ work emphasizes community-led, market-driven interventions through public, private and civic sector partnerships.

Mercy Corps has been operation in Uganda since 2006, mainly in the geographical of Acholi, Karamoja, West Nile and Langi, eastern Uganda and the greater Kampala area.


It has offices in Abim, Gulu, Kaabong, Kampala, Kitgum, Kotido, Moroto and Yumbe. Mercy Corps has a growing portfolio of programs in Uganda that focus on food security, agriculture and livestock market systems development; maternal and child health and nutrition; peace and reconciliation; youth economic productivity; resilience and humanitarian response.


Mercy Corps has worked in communities from every phase of development from the humanitarian response context to early recovery and longer-term economic and market systems development, linking each phase with a longer-term vision rooted in the communities needs and objectives.


In Uganda, some of our donors include USAID, SIDA, DFID, WFP, US Department of State; MasterCard Foundation and Echo.

    Responsibilities


  • Record keeping and Filing
  • Maintain vehicle administrative files
  • Track vehicle expenses
  • Compute fuel consumption reports
  • Conduct weekly vehicle inspection
  • Maintain Kampala movement board
  • Maintain database for Motorcycle expenses and repairs.


    Deliverables:

  • Well maintained Vehicle files
  • Organized fuel consumption reports and vehicle log sheets


    Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Student of Logistics and supply chain management or Transport and Logistics Management preferably in second year.
