Our client, a leading Mental Healthcare Provider wishes to recruit motivated Nurses who will be responsible for providing quality nursing care and support to patients, and their families in a professional manner.

    Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct accurate assessment of patients
    Documentation and storage of client information and/or data
  • Counselling patients while providing them and their families with appropriate information.
  • Identify patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with the patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
  • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, and their families.
  • Entrench quality assurance in all the treatment and therapeutic procedures by adhering to laid down treatment guidelines and practices.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations;
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Document patient care programmes by charting in patient records.
  • Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and on-going needs.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship among the clinical team by communicating information, responding to requests, building
    rapport and participating in team problem-solving methods.

    Person Profile

    Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing or Diploma in;
  • Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized Institution;
  • Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya;
  • Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a busy environment
  • Microsoft office packages proficiency
    Report writing skills
