Job Summary

ES, OVC Care and Support Officer is responsible for

  • Planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring and evaluating case achievement goals and benchmarks for target OVC and their families.

  • S/he will be responsible for ensuring identification, assessment/reassessment, case plan development and updating, case plan implementation, monitoring and closure that adhere to established quality standards and procedures.

  • She/he will support OVC and families to achieve health, schooling, stability and safety goals. Education, psychosocial support, child protection, legal support, nutrition, economic security services within the case plan achievement benchmarks.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local government, community and public health facilities, private sector entities, local community structures.

  • An interest in the wellbeing of children and in safeguarding and child protection matters.

  • Support during the cascading of Impower and Synoviyo curriculum-based training for target youth aged from 9-14.

  • Supervise and Impower and Synoviyo Instructors (TOIs) target performance

  • Establish new VSLAs and provide technical support for established saving groups (VSLAs) and youth saving groups.

  • Provide technical support and follow up SSWs and ES Animators at each respective kebeles and an interest in the wellbeing of children and in safeguarding and child protection matters.

    Job Requirements

    Minimum Requirement

  • A minimum of first Degree in Sociology and social work, Psychology, Community Development, and other related social science fields.

  • A VSLA, Micro Enterprise Selection Planning and Management training certificate is an advantage.

    Experience

  • A minimum of three years of experience with social development, health child protection, household, social protection, Economic
  • Strengthening activities, education, health and nutrition and HIV/AIDS care and support.
  • Experience with USAID funded PEPFAR OVC and or an HIV/AIDS program in Ethiopia is an added advantage.
