Job Description

  • Mekdim Ethiopia National Association (MENA) is an indigenous National Non-governmental, Non-political and not for profit humanitarian organization working in the area of HIV/AIDS prevention, care treatment and support services. MENA is now in the process of recruiting employees for its USAID MULU KP Activity sub granted from PSI/Ethiopia to be implemented in Addis Ababa; thus, invites competent candidates to apply on the above urgent vacant post

    Major Duties /Job Summary

  • Becomes an active member of the MULU KP activity intervention team

  • Be responsible for the overall technical guidance and coordination of ICT/PNS/RDS related activities

  • Prepare and submit weekly ICT plan in consultation with program and DIC team.

  • Ensures the delivery of standard comprehensive HIV services targeting key and priority population.

  • Coordinate the multi-disciplinary team working in the community for clinical service provision.

  • Coordinate both ART and non-ART DIC related biomedical activities.

  • Support demand creation for clinical service using innovative case finding approach using Index Case Testing.

  • Oversee and conduct HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC) maintaining all the required standards as per the national guideline.

  • Coordinate referral linkage of all HIV positive clients identified at outreach and other testing points.
    Work-up HIV positives clients to enroll to
  • chronic care and start treatment immediately, collect and document feedbacks.

  • Coordinate peer education sessions and supervise regularly at
    various venues.

  • Work with government clinical mentors’ network in the catchment area as and when need arises.

  • Attend regular catchment area meeting and implement action points received during the meeting for better client outcomes.

  • Documentation and reporting of all integrated clinical services activities for concerned bodies.

  • Facilitate information sharing during regular joint integrated supportive supervision from regional and headquarter team and as well as SIM’s visit by USAID.

  • Ensure patient confidentiality at the highest standard level and follow SOPs to prevent stigma and discrimination triggering patient care approaches.

  • Establish a good working relationship with the public-private-NGO network facilities for better success in referral and inter-network communication.

  • Work as focal person for town level quality assurance/ improvement team, lead regular meeting and follow implementation of QI activities.

    Job Requirements

    Qualification and Required Experience

  • BSC in Nursing or public health and above

  • 6 years of experience in relevant work with especial attention to coordination & management of community-based HIV/AIDS KP-friendly projects.

  • Basic training on HIV counseling, testing and Comprehensive ART as per national guideline.

  • Basic Computer application skill in MS

  • Communication and interpersonal skills

  • Fluency in English and local languages

  • Knowledge of key & priority population programming strategy and innovative approaches.
    Willingness to work extra hours and on weekends.
