  • Mekdim Ethiopia National Association (MENA) is registered non-governmental organization.

  • MENA has been funded by USAID Ethiopia under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) initiative to implement a three years Family-focused HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Program in Addis Ababa.

  • The Program will be implemented by MENA in partnership with different local implementing partners.

  • The activity aims to accelerate and sustain HIV epidemic control in Ethiopia through the delivery of high impact Family-focused HIV prevention, care, and Treatment Activity implementation areas are selected from A.A town 10 Sub Cities.

  • The purpose of this award is to strengthen local HIV epidemic control to achieve 95 percent of individuals living with HIV know their status, 95 percent of persons living with HIV to initiate antiretroviral therapy and 95 percent of antiretroviral therapy clients achieve viral load suppression by 2020.

  • HIV mitigation services for vulnerable children will focus on case discovery and linkage to HIV treatment among undiagnosed children living with HIV, on achieving better health outcomes through HIV viral load suppression and establishing interpersonal, family and community norms to achieve HIV and violence prevention (9 to 14-year-old children).

    Major Duties /job summary

  • Coordinate overall HIV/AIDS program activities of Addis Ababa branch.

  • Prepare work plan and support finance department for facilitation of transactions.

  • Becomes an active member of the MULU KP activity intervention program and management team.

  • Be responsible for the overall technical guidance and coordination of program implementation activities

  • Organize programmatic coordination schemes
    and act leadership role to mobilize subordinates to achievement.

  • Facilitate logistics, supplies and appropriate commodities to onsite program implementation.

  • Ensures the delivery of standard comprehensive HIV services targeting key and priority population at DICs.

  • Coordinate the multi-disciplinary team working in the community for clinical service provision.

  • Oversee overall program implementation to ensure the operation as per national SOPs.

  • Strengthen partnership among government and non-government structures.

  • Documentation and reporting of all integrated clinical services activities for concerned bodies.

  • Facilitate information sharing during regular joint integrated supportive supervision from regional and headquarter team and as well as SIM’s visit by USAID.

  • Ensure patient confidentiality at the highest standard level and follow SOPs to prevent stigma and discrimination triggering patient care approaches.

  • Establish a good working relationship with the public-private-Ngo network facilities for better success in referral and inter-network communication.

  • Ensure to meet USAID and other funding partners compliance criteria, both program and Financial.

    Job Requirements

    Qualification and Required Experience

  • BA, BSC or above in Nursing, public health, health informatics, health service management and related.

  • 8 years of experience in relevant work with especial attention to coordination & management of community-based HIV/AIDS KP-friendly projects.

  • Basic training on HIV counseling, testing and Comprehensive ART as per national guideline.

  • Basic Computer application skill

  • Communication and interpersonal skills

  • Fluency in English and local languages

  • Knowledge of key & priority population programming strategy and innovative approaches.

  • Willingness to work extra hours and on weekends.
