Main Purpose of Job To deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice
Mediclinic Southern Africa is a healthcare provider operating in South Africa and Namibia focused on providing acute care, specialist-orientated, multidisciplinary hospital services are currently in search of Professional Nurse for 3 months fixed term contract.
Professional Nurses specialising in ICU, General, Obstetrics; Theatre, and Emergency Care.
We are currently in process of building talent pools for the Northern Region in including:
Mediclinic Emfuleni; Mediclinic Ermelo; Mediclinic Highveld; Mediclinic Morningside; Mediclinic Morningside ; Mediclinic Nelspruit ; Mediclinic Potchefstroom ; Mediclinic Sandton ; Mediclinic Vereeniging ; Mediclinic Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre
Required Education
Essential Education: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing, registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Desired Education: Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in a relevant specialty area
Required Experience
Essential Minimum Experience: 1-year experience in a relevant specialty area: ICU , General, Obstetrics; Theatre, and Emergency care
Desired Experience: 2 years experience in a relevant specialty area: ICU , General, Obstetrics; Theatre, and Emergency care.
Key Responsibility Areas
Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
Identify, prevent and manage
risks to ensure patient safety
Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment
Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
Create a learning environment that builds staff competence
Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.
Required Job Skills and Knowledge
Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols.
Pharmacology
Scientific nursing principles and process.
Nursing record keeping.
Patient assessment skills.
Nursing processes and procedures.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
Develop/ modify a nursing care plan.
Relevant nursing legislation.
Basic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards).
Risk identification.
