Main Purpose of Job

To lead and direct the nursing service in the hospital

Key Responsibility Areas

Compile, implement and monitor the hospital specific nursing strategy

Drive and support a culture of quality nursing care and patient safety

Manage resources to ensure optimal operational efficiency

Manage the patient experience

Lead and manage people in the nursing department

Manage key stakeholder relations

Required Education

Essential: 3 or 4 year Diploma or 4 year Degree in Nursing; Nursing Management qualification

Desired: Nursing Education qualification

Required Experience

Essential Minimum: At least 5 years professional experience in a tertiary healthcare institution; 2-3 years management experience in a tertiary healthcare institution

Desired: Patient Safety management; Infection Prevention and Control management; Nursing Education

Required Job Skills and Knowledge

Infection prevention and control (IPC)
principles and protocols

Continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies

Clinical risk management

Management of staff productivity

Healthcare industry

Computer literate (Microsoft Office)

Financial management

Nursing functional knowledge

Relevant nursing legislation

Auditing and accreditation processes

Human resource processes including employee
relations

Patient complaint management
